Mystery Skype Call with Mr. Johnston’s Class in Elgin, Iowa

We are ready for are mystery skype and Ms. Kreul is calling the other class. They just answered after a while! Uh oh! We can’t see them! Oh, Ms. Kreul and the other teacher are figuring it out.Yay! Now we can see them. Now we have our Greeter and Closer, Adler, greeting the class.
The other class now has a question. They just gave us a clue that they have 99 counties! They asked if we were in the Midwest, and of course we said yes because we are. Now time for us to give a clue. I see the google mappers and regular mappers are really busy! They asked us how many counties our state has, and we don’t know, so we have to look it up. They just gave us a clue that was 6 states border their state. That’s a lot!
Another uh oh. We just lot the connection. OK, it’s back! Lost it again! Now that we have a ‘break’, the mappers are buzzing! Everything’s OK now! They have 3 state universities! Now everybody’s talking about where they are! They’re question is if we are in Wisconsin, and we’re not going to lie, so we said yes!
We had a guess for them, and it was South Dakota, but they said no. I hope they’re not lying! We had a guess if they’re state was Iowa, and they said yes! Now we’re going to guess what city each other live in!
They are close to the Irish Shanti! They asked if we lived on a major river, and we said yes. One of the google mappers, Hannah, thinks they live West Union, and they said no but we are close. Meghan, a mapper asked if they live in Cedar Rapids, but they said no. Jake asked if they lived in Newhall, and they said no. They just asked if we were in Milwaukee, and they just have to guess what village we live in. They said they are 8 miles from West Union.
They asked us if we were in Whitefish Bay, and they were right! They said there city only has about 700 people. They are also on the Turkey River. They are guessing our school, and they asked if our school was the WFB Middle School. We won’t be there in about 1 year and 1/2! They told us that they were in 5th Grade.
Trenton is asking if they live in Decorah, and they said no. Then they told us that they lived in Elgin, Iowa. We guessed too many guessed that they just told us. They guessed if we go to Richards, and the answer is yes.
Now we are talking about each others’ cities and states!
Now we are saying good bye and we are getting back to our school work!
